Savvy juniors, and regular readers of this blog, know that the earlier a college applicant starts drafting his or her essay, the more prepared they are. Glad to hear it worked out for your son, however. Are these good topics? So many students who come to me struggle with basic sentences, and now they are expected to create courtroom arguments on the fly? Every day, we navigate opposing forces in our lives. Rather than feeling like you have to write about something monumental, focus on the familiar, and consider how your environment has shaped you.
